What is the difference between Julia’s originals and custom reproductions?

An original is a unique, one-of-a-kind painting. When you purchase an original you purchase the only one in existence. It’s signed and dated by Julia and comes with a certificate of authenticity. A reproduction or print is a copy of one of Julia’s original paintings. It is custom-made from a professional, high-quality photograph to your size and finishing specifications using archival inks and quality finishing materials. Prints are produced in open editions and are not signed unless it is noted otherwise.

Do custom reproductions have texture?

No. A reproduction is created with ink only. There is a very slight texture from the paper or canvas that the work is printed on, but it is not a raised texture.

Do custom reproductions have metallic effects?

No. Print reproductions are not created with metallic inks. Special attention is used when photographing original works with metallic paint to capture the shine when they are printed with traditional inks. A digital printout from your own home printer will give you a good sense of how metallic colors translate into traditional inks. You can also view a video example here.
